Thousands of athletes descend on downtown for Supertri Chicago; street closures in place

   ​Thousands of athletes took over Chicago’s lakefront on Sunday for the nation’s largest triathlon.The Supertri Chicago brings everyone from first-time competitors to elite pros together for a swim, bike, and run through the city.ABC7 Chicago is now streaming 24/7. Click here to watchThe athletes began with the competition’s swimming portion before transitioning to cycling and running.ABC7 was at the finish line as dozens of competitors completed the race on Sunday morning.The SuperTri Chicago brings athletes of all skill sets to compete through Grant Park and the lakefront.The event is two days long, with the kids’ triathlon taking place on Saturday.
