Three-star Washington football QB target commits to Arizona Wildcats

The Washington Huskies had been seeking more quarterback reinforcements in the 2027 class, but their lone remaining target, three-star Caden Jones, committed to the Arizona Wildcats on Friday afternoon. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound Crean Lutheran High School product from Southern California is ranked as the nation’s No. 613 overall prospect and No. 36 quarterback in the 247Sports Composite. He chose Brent Brennan’s program over Baylor and Washington after visits to all three schools. UW head coach Jedd Fisch and the staff had pushed hard for Jones, hosting him on multiple unofficial visits before he returned to Seattle for an official trip the weekend of June 5. Several members of the Huskies’ coaching staff, including quarterbacks coach JP Losman, also traveled to see the multi-sport talent, who also held an offer from the basketball program led by coach Danny Sprinkle.
Blessed and grateful for this process and everyone who has supported me. With that, I will be committing to the University of Arizona! However, with four-star quarterback Blake Roskopf already pledged, it isn’t surprising that Jones chose the Wildcats, where his older brother Carter plays linebacker. If he had chosen differently, it could have signaled a major shakeup in the quarterback room after the 2026 season. Regardless of Demond Williams Jr.’s plans, with Stanford transfer Elijah Brown, redshirt freshmen Treston Kini McMillan and Dash Beierly, and true freshman Derek Zammit all vying for the same spot, adding a second quarterback would likely have triggered substantial turnover at the position.
Jones is one of three Crean Lutheran products offered by Washington, joining four-star wide receiver Ty Johnson and three-star cornerback Evan Mack. Coincidentally, that trio is also Brennan’s top-ranked group in the No. 62-ranked class, per 247Sports.
