The departure of Denzel Boston to the NFL left a physically large hole on the outside of the formation. Dezmen Roebuck had an outstanding true freshman season, and Rashid Williams coming back from injury create some promise. A great incoming recruiting class gives hope for the future, but it’s hard to depend on that group for certainty out of the gate. Transfer Christian Moss has seized Boston’s old role as the physically imposing possession receiver. But the Seattle Times profiles an under-discussed incumbent, Justice Williams. His name was hardly mentioned through the fall, but Williams made the team’s first official depth chart and seems poised to get some real playing time. Christian Caple posted his game-by-game predictions for the UW 2026 season. He has the Huskies going 9-3 with losses to USC, Oregon, and Indiana. It’s an optimistic but feasible path for the Dawgs, and one that may or may not force me to go back to edit my own game-by-game predictions set to publish tomorrow (grumble grumble). The Huskies have made their season opener a big recruiting weekend, with numerous top prospects coming to campus to witness the Apple Cup in person. Tom Loy of 247Sports has a list of the confirmed visitors, though these lists are always subject to last minute changes. Jalanie George, a true 5-star Edge, and Hunter Fujikawa, a blue chip QB out of Hawaii, look like the headliners of the weekend. Husky Men’s Soccer dropped a tough game against #25 Oregon State, but will return home to start a home stand. They will play Thursday night against Cal State- Fullerton and UC Davis will also visit over the weekend. UW Basketball legend Quincy Pondexter has put in serious work as an assistant coach over the last several years and has been rewarded with his first opportunity as a head coach. Q-Pon accepted the coaching gig with the Windy City Bulls, Chicago’s G-League affiliate.
