MIAMI GARDENS, FL – OCTOBER 25: Miami defensive lineman Rueben Bain Jr. (4) pressures Stanford quarterback Ben Gulbranson (15) in the third quarter as the Miami Hurricanes faced the Stanford Cardinal on October 25, 2025, at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. Rutgers came out with a whimper and lost on their home field to a UMass team that was on a 16 game losing streak. Schiano, the one time savior of the Scarlet Knights, might not be able to do it the second time around. The Minutemen looked like world beaters against them. Husker fans, take that to heart. We are not Rutgers. Tonight, we get more football. So, if you’re not watching a high school game, you have options. First look, there’s not much in terms of marque matchups. If anything, you can see what some of the top teams will look like this season. UTEP’s Scotty Walden is in his third year as head coach for the Miners. They’re currently picked to end dead last in the Mountain West. So, it’s a good chance to see how Oklahoma will look with new players. It will not be a good game, but at least we have that. Stanford had a decent win against Hawaii last weekend. Maybe they will put up a fight against the Hurricanes of Miami at 8pm? I’m not holding my breath but it will be fun to see how Miami’s offense will do with Darian Mensah at the helm. Also of note is Toledo at Michigan State to start Pat Fizgerald’s tenure leading the Spartans. Toledo is a feisty MAC team that should push Michigan State to a certain extent. So, sit back and enjoy this Friday night lineup. Tomorrow morning is the start of our first full Saturday of college football. The season is here, enjoy it while we have it as it will go by far to quickly.
