​Seattle — The Tigers continue to pad their pitching depth at the Triple-A level.According to MLB transactions, they signed veteran left-hander Austin Gomber to a minor-league deal Wednesday and assigned him to Toledo.The 32-year-old broke in with the Cardinals in 2018 and spent five seasons in the Colorado Rockies’ rotation. In 705.2 big-league innings, he’s posted a 35-47 record, 5.08 ERA, averaging 6.9 strikeouts and 2.8 walks per nine innings.He spent this season in Triple-A, first with Texas (Round Rock) and most recently with the Braves (Gwinnett).Gomber features a six-pitch mix, but his fastball velocity, once 92-93 mph, has dipped to 89-90.He and lefty Jackson Wolf, whom the Tigers acquired with Kash Mayfield from the Padres in the Casey Mize trade, will help fill out the rotation at Toledo.The Tigers also retained right-handed reliever Andre Granillo, who they designated for assignment last week.
