​Today in Boston Celtics history, Lester Hudson was born in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1984. The Celtics selected Hudson with the 58th overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft after he played his college basketball at Southwest Tennessee Community College and then later at the University of Tennessee at Martin.After being drafted by the Celtics, there was not much playing time on a team that was aiming for an NBA title. So, the team sent Hudson to the league’s developmental league to help bring him along. He split between the parent club in Boston and their NBA D League (as the G League was called then) the Maine Red Claws (now, Maine Celtics) over the first few months of the 2009-10 season.Ultimately, it did not work out for the UT Martin alum, with Boston waiving Hudson in January 2010.
