The 6-7 post player from Alabaster (AL) Montverde Academy chose the Longhorns over offers from Notre Dame, UCLA and Vanderbilt, among others.“We just had a Zoom and I was just on the phone with Coach Vic [Schaefer], and I just decided to do it,” Forbes told Rivals. “I mean, I really loved Texas from when I visited in February. I really loved it and I just couldn’t wait any longer. I just decided to do it. My mom and my grandma didn’t even know.”AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementHer relationship with Schaefer was a factor in Forbes’ decision.“It’s been really cool getting to know him,” she said. “You know, he really values people in my position, and I feel like that also was another big factor leading me to this.
