The White Sox pulled into a tie with the Cleveland Guardians in the American League Central, which means they are also in a tie for the third and final wild card spot.The White Sox have the tiebreaker on Cleveland, so technically the White Sox are in the lead for the division, pushing Cleveland to the wild card. The Blue Jays have the tiebreaker over the Guardians, so that two game deficit is really a two-game deficit.Texas RangersThe Rangers entered the day at just one game back of the wild card spot and 0.5 games ahead of Toronto. However, the Rangers suffered a back-breaking 4-3 loss against the Boston Red Sox. As a result, they are also 2.0 games back of Cleveland, and they are back even with Toronto in the playoff race.Scoreboard watching The Blue Jays will be back in action on Friday night against the Rangers. They’ll have an opportunity to separate from Texas in this series, and the environment will be intense. Since the Rangers played on Thursday, and used some high-leverage bullpen arms in the contest, the hope will be that the Toronto pitching staff has the advantage, especially with Dylan Cease pitching in Game 1.He’ll be opposed by youngster Kumar Rocker, who is 5-11 with a 4.54 ERA.The White Sox and Tigers will play at 7:40 p.m. ET in a battle of relatively unknown pitchers.
