Trafford named Hisense Player of the Match on debut against ForestLeeds United supporters have voted James Trafford as their Hisense Player of the Match following Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest.The 23-year-old goalkeeper enjoyed an impressive competitive debut for the Whites at the City Ground, helping Daniel Farke’s side begin the 2026/27 Premier League campaign with three points and a clean sheet.Trafford, who joined Leeds from Man City during the summer transfer window, played the full 90 minutes as Anton Stach’s late free-kick secured victory in the East Midlands.The England international was called upon throughout the contest and made three saves to keep Forest at bay, while also recording three runs out and one high claim.Comfortable with the ball at his feet, Trafford registered 44 touches and completed 19 accurate passes, alongside five throws.He also made nine recoveries and five carries, covering a total distance of 23.8 metres with the ball.His clean sheet and performance also earned him nine points for Fantasy Premier League managers.Following the full-time whistle, supporters selected Trafford as the standout performer in the Hisense Player of the Match vote, with the goalkeeper taking 29% of the vote.He was closely followed by match-winner Anton Stach on 28%, with Tarik Muharemović receiving 16% and Jaka Bijol 10%.
