Twins beat Angels 4-2 and head into break with 8 wins in their last 9 games

   ​MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Trevor Larnach delivered a home run and drove in two runs, while Ryan Jeffers contributed a two-run double as the Minnesota Twins defeated the Los Angeles Angels 4-2 on Sunday, entering the All-Star break with eight wins in their last nine games. In the third inning, Larnach’s single brought home Luke Keaschall, tying the game at 1-1. Jeffers then lined a double to score Ryan Kreidler and Larnach, giving Minnesota a 3-1 lead. Later, Larnach added a 405-foot solo homer to right in the eighth, his seventh homer of the season, helping the Twins to their fifth straight series victory.
On the mound, Minnesota starter Taj Bradley pitched seven innings, allowing six hits and two earned runs while striking out six and issuing two walks. Andrew Morris worked the final two innings, recording two strikeouts and earning his third save of the season.
For the Angels, Josh Lowe and Denzer Guzman went yard with solo homers. Lowe hit his eighth of the year in the second inning, and Guzman followed with his fourth homer in the seventh. José Soriano took the loss, giving up five hits, three earned runs and two walks over five innings.
Looking ahead, the Angels will host the Detroit Tigers for a three-game series beginning Friday. The Twins will head to Chicago to take on the Cubs in a three-game set starting Friday.
