Five years after his defeat to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264, Conor McGregor is aiming to prove he remains among the world’s elite as he faces Max Holloway at UFC 329. At his peak, McGregor (22-6) stood as a worldwide breakout star, becoming a two-division champion, elevating the UFC’s profile to new heights, and even stepping into a boxing ring with Floyd Mayweather. Yet his career has also been marked by injuries, legal challenges, and multiple accusations of sexual assault. While questions have lingered about his long-term commitment to fighting, McGregor has insisted he is primed for a sensational return. “I, for sure, love this game. It’s my every waking thought, the fight game,” McGregor told CBS Sports. “And look, I’m excited to come back and showcase it, showcase my love for the game.” Holloway (27-9), a former UFC featherweight champion and BMF titleholder, has gone 2-2 in his last four bouts. The formidable Hawaiian will look to rebound from the loss he suffered to McGregor back in 2013.
