Conor McGregor is officially back. The former two-division champion stepped onto the scale for the first time in five years and delivered a successful weigh-in, tipping the scales at 170.5 pounds. This marks a one-pound allowance for a non-title bout, setting the stage for his welterweight rematch against Max Holloway at UFC 329. The event, headlined by this highly anticipated clash, takes place Saturday at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. McGregor previously defeated Holloway back in August 2013, when both were rising stars in the featherweight division.
Holloway was the first fighter to weigh in on Friday morning, followed by Cory Sandhagen, and then McGregor. When McGregor steps into the octagon on Saturday, it will be his first appearance since he broke his leg in a loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021. He had been scheduled to return earlier in a confirmed bout against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 in June 2024, but had to withdraw due to a toe injury. In addition to his in-octagon challenges, McGregor has faced legal issues outside the sport, including a civil suit where he was found liable for sexual assault in November 2024.
Also weighing in successfully for the event were co-main event contenders in the lightweight division, Benoit Saint Denis and Paddy Pimblett. Both fighters used the one-pound allowance for non-title bouts and each registered at 156 pounds. The official results show that all 28 fighters on the UFC 329 card made weight.
