(KELO) – The University of Sioux Falls fell to #11 Southwest Minnesota State University on Thursday in five set, 3-2.It was the second straight ranked matchups for USF, but the Cougars battled after dropping the first set. They would respond by winning two straight sets, giving USF a 2-1 lead heading into the fourth. That still wouldn’t be enough, as the Mustangs pushed the match to a fifth set, led by SMSU junior middle blocker Natalie Pilney, who finished with 15 kills. She was one of four Mustangs that finished with 12 or more kills in the match. USF will look to end its seven-game losing streak on Saturday, as the Cougars travel to Wayne State College (13-1), a team that they have only beaten once in 17 tries.
