​Vanderbilt football is set take on Austin Peay in its season opener, kicking off coach Clark Lea’s sixth season.The Commodores are coming off a strong 2025 season that saw them win 10 games for the first time ever and go to the ReliaQuest Bowl.But Vanderbilt has lost some familiar faces, including Diego Pavia and Eli Stowers. Replacing them, both Blaze Berlowitz and 5-star freshman quarterback Jared Curtis are expected to play in the game, with Berlowitz taking the first snaps.Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. and will be on SEC Network+.Some key returners for the Commodores include Sedrick Alexander, Junior Sherrill and Bryan Longwell.Austin Peay (1-0) defeated Gardner-Webb in its last game by a score of 35-17.Vanderbilt vs Austin Peay score updates
