​SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — Many years from now, the Central Bobcats will probably still be talking about last week’s game-changing drive against El Paso Montwood at the Mustang Bowl in Andrews.The Bobcats were trailing 7-0 in the first quarter, before going on an incredible 17-play, 94-yard scoring drive to tie the game at 7-7 on a touchdown pass from quarterback Micah Smith to running back Zeyvion Johnson.Central scored four more unanswered touchdowns in a 42-7 blowout against the Rams, improving to 2-2 in non-district play.The Bobcats will be looking for a second-straight win for the first time this season when they host the Belton Tigers at 7 p.m. Friday at San Angelo Stadium.That’s the next-to-last game for Central before opening District 2-6A action at home against Midland Lee on Oct. 16.Click on the video above to hear what head coach Mark Smith had to say about the defining part of last week’s win.Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
