Vikings continue to be labeled to give former top pick a ‘fresh start’

The Minnesota Vikings have a loaded quarterback room. They boast that the two players are competing for the starting job: Kyler Murray and J.J. McCarthy. Backing them up will be Carson Wentz and Max Brosmer. Needless to say, they are loaded at the position, but why do folks keep suggesting they acquire one more?Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox recently wrote up seven players that “need a change of scenery,” and on it were both McCarthy and the former top pick of the Indianapolis Colts, Anthony Richardson. The latter is attached to the Vikings as a team that could give him his fresh start. He writes, “While McCarthy remains a bit of an unknown, the Indianapolis Colts largely know what they have in 2023 first-round pick Anthony Richardson. The 24-year-old Florida product is loaded with physical potential but remains a raw signal-caller with a career 67.8 quarterback rating. . .Richardson’s top options might even include Minnesota if the Vikings are indeed out on McCarthy. According to Wolfe, Minnesota was interested in Richardson before getting the opportunity to add Murray.”If they were to make a move for Richardson, it would have to be after the team moved on from McCarthy. Perhaps things get interesting, and they get swapped for each other? Crazier things have happened.
