The Eagles were ineligible for the MEAC Tournament due to Academic Progress Rate penalties issued by the NCAA. Coppin State is led by Larry Stewart, who is going into his fourth season as head coach. Coppin State is the first known “buy game” for Villanova. The schedule as a whole, which should be released soon, now officially includes the following:At Rutgers (Exhibition) – October 11Vs. Notre Dame (Rome, Italy) – November 1At Pittsburgh – November 17Vs. Coppin State – November 24At Kansas – November 27Vs. Wisconsin (neutral-site game at Xfinity Mobile Arena) – December 12Other games that are confirmed, but don’t have a date:Vs. MichiganAt TempleVs. La SalleBig 5 ClassicIf Villanova plays 11 out-of-conference games once again, there’s only one more left to schedule. It will likely be another home game against a low-major school, but it would be nice to be surprised.
