Still, they have put together a roster that they will start the season with.The Warriors are entering the final stages of Steph Curry’s career, which is why many believe they need to make moves. At a certain point, Golden State’s offseason was viewed as not great at all.“The Golden State Warriors’ offseason is quickly going off the rails, with them having done little to improve thus far. The Warriors failing to improve their roster this summer should come as a massive disappointment to star Steph Curry,” Hoops Habit’s Cal Durrett wrote.Even with a full roster, they can still make moves, whether that means adding players on two-way contracts or signing players before the roster has to be made official. Blue Man Hoop’s Peter O’Keefe believes the team should sign Walter Clayton Jr. if he is waived by the Memphis Grizzlies.“Clayton is the one player the Warriors would likely show interest in if the Grizzlies surprisingly moved on, but otherwise Mike Dunleavy Jr. and the front office might be happy with their young core entering the season. Still, if the Warriors are willing to take a gamble on Terry despite his underwhelming career numbers through four years, it might be worth monitoring the Grizzlies’ situation to see who is ultimately moved on,” O’Keefe wrote.During his time at Florida, the national champion guard was compared to Curry.“He reminds me of Steph (Curry) a little bit of how good he is off the dribble,” Kevin Willard said. “It really is amazing that he shoots — like we get a scouting report done by our analytical company. And he grades better than any player they’ve ever had analytically shooting the basketball off the dribble going right off the dribble, going left — if you go under pick-and-rolls, what he shoots.”With those comparisons, it was assumed that Clayton was going to have a good NBA career, but it has gotten off to a slow start. He was an elite shooter in college, but it hasn’t translated just yet.He is currently on his $19 million rookie contract. Clayton needs to find his range again, and there is no better way to do that than to learn from Curry himself.
