Week 2 fantasy football busts: 5 players to bench or fade

Week 1 of the fantasy football season has come and gone, and now the real work begins. Making in-season adjustments is the main part of winning a championship, and deciding who is worth playing each week is a big part of that.I’ll be here each week to try to guide you through some of those tougher lineup choices. We have a lot to discuss, so let’s jump in!Bhayshul Tuten, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsYes, the Jaguars looked great in Week 1, and yes, the Broncos’ run defense looked terrible in Week 1, but Tuten is a tough start this Sunday. The secondyear back played only 49% of the offensive snaps for the Jags, splitting the work with Chris Rodriguez.Tuten also plays next to no role in the passing game, limiting his upside against a great defense. I’ll buy into the Broncos making defensive adjustments after seeing Ken Walker run all over them on Monday night. Travis Kelce, TE, Kansas City ChiefsThe Chiefs’ passing game did not impress on Monday night. It’s going to take some time for Patrick Mahomes to truly look like Patrick Mahomes, which makes some of the pass-catching options on the team tough to trust. Seeing the team-high 3/71/0 stat line from Kelce is nice, but 59 of those 71 yards came on one catch. In Week 1, the Colts allowed only 6.6 fantasy points to tight ends, so I’d wait a week or two before you truly trust Kelce and other Chiefs pass-catchers. Chuba Hubbard, RB, Carolina PanthersA lot of Panthers had big games in a week where they scored 37 points, Chuba Hubbard included. Seeing 20+ PPR points is great, but it’s buoyed by two touchdowns; meanwhile, his overall volume wasn’t great. Hubbard only had 13 total touches, which isn’t all that inspiring. He now takes on the Atlanta Falcons, who only allowed 15.4 PPR points to running backs in Week 1. I don’t love the volume for Hubbard, and they won’t be playing the Bears every week. Quinshon Judkins, RB, Cleveland BrownsThe Browns will play from behind in nearly every game, and it limits the potential scoring for Quinshon Judkins. In Week 1, Judkins was ineffective on the ground with 12 carries for 33 yards, 2.8 yards per attempt. He added just two catches for 17 yards. This shouldn’t be a surprise since he only had an 8.3% target share last season. As underdogs of more than a touchdown, Judkins’ output will be limited due to his minor role in the passing game.George Kittle, TE, San Francisco 49ersSeeing is believing, and we haven’t seen it yet from George Kittle. It’s great to have him back on the field after his injury Achilles suffered in January, but starting him in fantasy football is a different story. He had 2 catches for 12 yards on 5 targets in Week 1, while playing on only 46% of the snaps. The snap rate and role will improve as the season goes on, but it’s a tough start in Week 2 knowing the floor is so low. This article originally appeared on USA TODAY: Week 2 fantasy football busts: 5 players to bench or fade
