By the time Tenoroc scored its only touchdown late in the fourth quarter against Avon Park on Thursday night, it was too little too late as the Red Devils already led 13-0 before closing the game out 13-7.The Titans’s offense struggled for the second week in a row. They were held to just 24 yards in the first half as Avon Park took a 6-0 lead on Ma’Khaleb Owens’ 11-yard run late with 2:30 to play in the half. Its lone score came on a Chris Maxwell blocked punt, which was recovered in the end zone.Tenoroc started its first possession of the game at the Avon Park 23 after a bad snap on a punt but could not take advantage. The drive stalled at the 18 on a fourth-down incompletion.Tenoroc’s other scoring chance after its first possession came on the opening drive on the second half. Brexton Chapple kept the drive alive by completing a 23-yard pass to Zamarion Smith on down. On second down at the Avon Park 41, Smith, who alternated at quarterback with Chapple, found a receiver open at the 10 but the receiver couldn’t hang on.Smith then connected on third down for a 10-yard gain but the drive stalled again.Avon Park was backed up at the 5.
