​Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell didn’t have a concrete update on the health of his starting quarterback after Kyler Murray exited Sunday’s game with a concussion in the first quarter. Murray took a scary hit while attempting to slide on just his 11th snap of the day and the season.“Have no update at this time on how those evaluations and things have gone,” O’Connell said. “(We’ll) take it day by day and see how he comes in tomorrow.”Murray stayed down after being hit by the Packers’ Lukas Van Ness and Javon Bullard. His helmet was knocked off during the play, and nearby teammates immediately signaled for medical personnel on the opposite sideline. Murray looked very shaken up on the shots shown by the CBS broadcast after the play.Along with the medical staff, O’Connell rushed over to check on his quarterback.“By the time I got out there, he was totally conscious and talking,” O’Connell said. “They were just going through the normal evaluations. At this point in time, I don’t have a lot to update, other than I did just see him and he seemed to be doing pretty well. But I wouldn’t medically quote me on that.”Murray was spotted in the Vikings’ locker room after the game talking to teammates, which could be seen as a good sign. However, his status for next Sunday’s game in Chicago would appear to be very much in question at this point. He’ll have to fully clear the NFL’s concussion protocol in order to have a chance to play.“We’ll just take it day by day,” O’Connell reiterated. “When I’m saying I don’t have a lot to give you guys right now, that includes the practice week ahead. We’ll keep you posted.”Carson Wentz took over for Murray and wound up throwing three touchdown passes in a crazy game that saw the Vikings turn a 22-10 deficit into a 39-22 victory with a 29-0 spurt spanning the end of the third quarter and a wild three-TD sequence in the fourth. Murray’s injury situation was overshadowed a bit by the chaotic nature of the game.“Would’ve loved to see Kyler come out today and get the opportunity to do a lot of the things that he’s been doing,” O’Connell said. “He had a great week of practice. He was ready to go.
