His enormous contract with Fox Sports to provide commentary for NFL games and the unique way in which he rose to the No. 1 booth has made him a subject of great interest. Some think this is beneath someone with GOAT status and that opinion has been shared by many voices this week. Yet as I sit here and earnestly try to come up with some sort of emotional response to his growing ubiquity, nothing is happening. If pressed, I would say that it’s kind of cool to see his metabolism for being multidimensional. Whereas Michael Jordan has parceled out Michael Jordan in rare doses, Brady is everywhere and perhaps trying to be everything. If he has the energy for it all, then sure, go for it. It’s kind of remarkable for someone of his status to be involved in a performative beef with a lightning rod like Logan Paul and for it to spark nary a feeling. Yet here we are. Even more odd is how, deep down, I guess a Brady political run has always been in the back of my mind so why anyone would be surprised if that happens?Good for him for staying busy and diversifying. His motor has remained highly revved even in retirement and it could steer him in any direction at this point. So let’s just enjoy the ride without worrying about the destination.
