Is New England Patriots receiver A.J. Brown still a top-shelf wideout to draft in fantasy football dynasty leagues for next season? On Sunday’s episode of the “89 Show,” NFL great Steve Smith ranked Brown in his second tier of wide receivers for dynasty leagues in 2026 as the No. 11 overall player at the position, citing his age and pre-trade circumstances as key factors to consider moving forward.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement“Well, with A.J. Brown, I really believe it’s all going to all depend on how it goes in New England,” Smith said. “And when I say how it goes in New England, I’m talking about, does it go smooth enough, to where he starts to feel like he’s getting his joy back in playing football? When you start to get your joy back in playing football, you start to go, ‘Hey, I think I can keep going another four or five years.’”Brown went for 1,000 yards receiving for the fourth consecutive season in 2025 and the sixth time in his seven-year career. However, he has seen his total drop from 1,456 yards in 2023 to 1,079 yards in 2024 and 1,003 yards last season. As he approaches his age-29 season in the league in 2026, he becomes an elite option for the short term, but a player to err on the side of caution with beyond the next handful of years.Follow Patriots Wire on Twitter and Facebook. This article originally appeared on Patriots Wire: Where Patriots’ A.J.
