With the NFL regular season just about a month and a half away, it’s time to start once again looking forward to another year of football. And whether or not your favorite team finds success could come down to something as simple as the divisional opponents that make up over one-third of their schedule. With that in mind, let’s take a look at ranking each division from the best in the league down to the worst.Seattle is coming off a Super Bowl win and still returns many top talents from last year’s run. The Rams and the 49ers also bring back their top players and have the talent for a Super Bowl run as well. There are plenty of questions about the Cardinals, but the other three teams are as good as can be.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThis might be the most well-rounded division in the league, but they don’t feel as top-heavy as the NFC West. Whether there are any true Super Bowl contenders remains to be seen, but the Bears, Lions, Packers, and Vikings are capable of making the postseason and making a little run.The Broncos were one of the top teams in the NFL last year, and perhaps just one quarterback injury away from a Super Bowl run. The Chiefs still have Super Bowl-caliber talent and coaching despite a down year; the Chargers are still a playoff contender; and the Raiders made all the right moves to improve.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe Texans and Jaguars have developed into real playoff contenders, and if the Colts can avoid the wild lows of last season, they could be one as well. The Titans don’t seem much of a threat, but the rest of the division could be pretty competitive. This feels like a similar story to last year, where the Patriots and Bills will both be top AFC contenders and could make AFC Championship runs. But the Jets and the Dolphins will have low expectations and drag down the overall rankings of their divisions, and it’s hard to see either finding much success this year.Mike McCarthy has to prove he still has it, and Aaron Rodgers may not have an elite season left in him. The jury is still out on whether Zac Taylor has what it takes to lead the Bengals to success, and there’s no guarantee the Ravens or Browns will find immediate success under new coaches. One of these four teams could have a strong season, and maybe even two. But there are plenty of questions here.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe Eagles should remain the cream of the crop here, and the Cowboys could be a postseason contender. But truly, outside of Philadelphia, it’s hard to see any team in this division making much noise. The Buccaneers or the Panthers could take the next step forward this season, but that still doesn’t put them among the top NFC contenders. And there’s no way to guarantee either will exceed last season’s mediocre results. The Saints and Falcons, meanwhile, have some work to do.This article originally appeared on Touchdown Wire: Which NFL division is at the top of the league entering 2026?
