Just how electric will James Madison transfer Wayne Knight be this season? Bob Chesney was able to have Knight follow him west to join the UCLA Bruins and the expectations are through the roof.College football insider Phil Steele released his preseason All-American team and he named Knight a First Team All-American at the all purpose position. This comes just weeks after Athlon Sports had Knight as a two-time All-Big Ten player, earning bids for third team punt returner and second team all-purpose.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementKnight can do it all, as he sliced through the Sun Belt Conference last season. In his junior season, Knight led the Sun Belt with 1,373 rushing yards and added 40 catches for 397 yards through the air while finding the end zone 10 times.James Madison also entrusted Knight as a kick returner, bringing back 20 punts and four kickoffs. Knight didn’t score any special teams touchdowns while with JMU but that might just mean that he’s due.Knight comes to UCLA with 39 college games and a CFP appearance under his belt. He’s also one of several James Madison transfers that are now Bruins, with Sahir West, Riley Robell, Derrick Barksdale and Carter Sweazie being part of Chesney’s crew that wound up in Los Angeles.UCLA has Knight, Anthony Woods and Jaivian Thomas atop the depth chart at running back. The Bruins rushing attack has been muted since joining the Big Ten, with UCLA finishing 2025 with the 12th-most rushing yards after being dead-last in 2024.This article originally appeared on UCLA Wire: Which UCLA Bruin did Phil Steele predict to be an All-American
