Good morning, baseball fans! The buzz around the league is that the San Francisco Giants will be sellers as the trade deadline approaches, with nearly every member of the roster under some level of speculation. Personally, I’m not entirely convinced they’ll pull the trigger, even though it might be the prudent move. This organization hasn’t exactly built a reputation in recent years for making what most would call “smart” decisions, but maybe this season they’ll surprise us and prove me wrong.
There have been trade rumors linking a wide range of players, from established stars like Logan Webb to the ball kids who help out behind the scenes. At this juncture, I believe the Giants should at least listen to every possible offer and consider every scenario. Yet there will always be certain names you hope don’t depart, players whose presence you’ve grown to rely on as foundations for the team’s future.
For me, Jung Hoo Lee stands out as a player you’d hate to see moved. He’s been the highlight of Giants baseball for me since the day they traded away my previous favorite, Mike Yastrzemski. That personal connection makes the possibility of a Lee trade feel almost inevitable, and I’d much rather see him stay put. Still, fate in baseball often takes unexpected turns, and the likelihood of a sale could rise with the right deal, even if it’s something you’d rather avoid.
So, who would be your “hands off” player as we barrel toward the deadline? It’s a question worth debating as the Giants conclude this series against the Toronto Blue Jays, with the finale scheduled for this afternoon at 12:45 p.m. PT.
