It’s not a signing, but it’s good news if you’re a fan of the 76ers.Philadelphia has moved up to third in the LeBron James sweepstakes, according to Kalshi. And it’s getting closer between them and the frontrunners.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementJames, the free agent superstar who played for the Los Angeles Lakers last year, is still on the market and many teams are trying to get the services of one of the all time great. His hometown Cleveland Cavaliers are still a good bet according to Kalshi, which gives him a 34 percent chance of going there. But the frontrunners are now the Golden State Warriors, which Kalshi gives a 43 percent chance of landing the King. The Philadelphia 76ers, a team that had very little shot at landing the star heading into the NBA offseason, now sits third at 16 percent. The Sixers became a possiblity after they traded for Jaylen Brown, giving the team a strong core including Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey.James will be on a new team come opening day, but when and where will LeBron James sign?AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementIt looks like the betting markets have James going to Golden State. That would be a fun fit with him joining the stars out there, but it probably wouldn’t produce a title. The stars in Golden State are getting older, as is James.Outside of the top three, Kalshi has the Miami Heat (11 percent) and Minnesota (3 percent) as the only teams with a better than 1 percent chance of landing James.James said he would take his time on deciding and he hasn’t lied. But we’re now in the second half of July, and James will probably be signing soon.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementHere’s the latest betting odds according to Kalshi: There’s a 21 percent chance he signs before July 17, a 37 percent chance he signs before July 19 and an 80 percent chance he signs before July 26. There’s an 85 percent chance he signs by Aug. 2.It’s hard to believe it will be much later than that as teams will need to start filling out their rosters.Obviously anyone can make room for the all-time great, but James will also want to get started in what could be his final season in the NBA.es has until October before training camp starts, but it stands to reason he’ll sign during the summer.LeBron James is 41. He will turn 42 on Dec. 30.This article originally appeared on Asbury Park Press: Who is LeBron James signing with? Golden State, Philadelphia move up
