Tom Kim is dominating the 2026 Genesis Scottish Open, sitting at 13-under par and sharing the final-round lead with Matt Fitzpatrick. The South Korean golfer has been in excellent form over the last 54 holes, adapting impressively to the links-style layout. While he already has three professional wins to his name, those victories came before 2023. At the Renaissance Club, Kim is now very close to adding a fourth title to his resume.
Away from the course, Kim’s personal life has also undergone a major development in recent months. The PGA Tour star quietly married Lee Seo-yeon last year, a story the JoongAng Ilbo broke as an exclusive.

Kim had already established Dallas as a home base, and the two connected through regular Bible study sessions. From that point, a deep romantic bond formed away from the public eye.
Their decision to wed remained completely private, a move aimed at protecting Seo-yeon’s privacy as she pursued her studies. “I was attracted to her because her life experiences are similar to mine,” Kim told the press, according to the report. Their shared backgrounds feature remarkably nomadic childhoods. Kim grew up moving between China and Thailand before relocating to the United States in 2022, and he began his professional career at a very young age. Seo-yeon spent her own childhood traveling the world with her missionary parents, living in places like Mongolia and Indonesia. The couple has learned to put down roots in unfamiliar places, building a strong foundation together.
“We understand each other and can lean on one another,” Kim said.

Kim recently enjoyed a double date with Scottie Scheffler, according to the report. He shares a very brotherly bond with the World No. 1, who currently is not playing after missing the cut on Friday. Kim also practises frequently with Scheffler. As the Scottish Open progresses, Kim remains focused on a potential breakthrough victory, crediting his new marital status with helping him maintain a grounded mindset. “I feel more at ease and more responsible after getting married,” Kim said. His game appears sharper than ever in Scotland, combining aggressive play with a stable personal foundation.
Seo-yeon double majored at Smith College in the United States, studying economics and political science on a full scholarship, underscoring her strong academic achievements alongside her supportive role in Kim’s career.
