The Atlanta Braves have the best record in all of MLB with their 46-25 overall mark. It has been a strong start to the new campaign for Atlanta without question. Starting pitcher Chris Sale has performed at a high level once again, yet he is not receiving as much attention as one may expect.. Trade rumors are swirling around Tarik Skubal. Everyone is mesmerized by what Jacob Misiorowski is accomplishing on the mound. Paul Skenes is still a star. Of course, Shohei Ohtani continues to find success both offensively and on the mound.. Advertisement. Advertisement. Advertisement. As good as Sale is, he simply is not receiving the same level of attention as some other stars. Perhaps we have simply gotten used to his dominance on the mound. Maybe it’s because the Braves continue to win and it is almost expected at this point.. Regardless of the reason, Sale’s performance should not be overlooked. He is going to make another run for the Cy Young Award, and he may even end up winning the award.. Through 13 starts, the southpaw has turned in a stellar 2.30 ERA. He also has a 1.05 WHIP to go along with 92 strikeouts in his 78.1 innings of work on the mound.. Advertisement. Advertisement. Advertisement. In other words, Sale has been dominant. Sale has been incredible for a significant portion of his career, but it did seem as if performance was declining toward the end of his time with the Boston Red Sox. Sale quickly reminded the MLB world that he had plenty left in the tank after getting traded to the Braves before the 2024 campaign, though.. The left-hander ended up winning the National League Cy Young Award in 2024 in what was a tremendous season. He was good once again in 2025, although the veteran was limited to only 21 outings. Sale has continued to pitch well this year.. At 37 years old, Sale is not displaying any signs of slowing down. He is still among the best pitchers in the game.. He deserves more respect. There is nothing wrong with paying attention to the younger stars on the mound as well, of course. Misiorowski is becoming one of the best pitchers in the game with the way he has been performing this season. Nevertheless, Sale is still pitching well and he will likely be a serious candidate to win the National League Cy Young Award once again.
