Both are institutions with their respective teams, and neither has ever expressed interest in getting traded,” he added. The Yankees and Angels may have already done this song and dance. Trout has a no-trade clause in his contract, so New York may be wasting its time. As Rymer wrote, it doesn’t hurt to ask again. The Yankees would probably much rather have Cody Bellinger man the position. Plus, Aaron Judge is headed towards life as a full-time DH in his late thirties. The same can be said for Trout. How would that work? It wouldn’t work.
