Aliyah Boston will play in Game 1 of the Indiana Fever’s game vs. Las Vegas at 4 p.m. Sunday in the first round of the WNBA Playoffs. But it’s unclear how many minutes she will play.”Aliyah’s going to give it a go,” Fever coach Stephanie White said. “We’re just going to do like we always do when she has a little flare-up and make it a game-time decision and we’ll adjust her minutes. She’s played through this all year long, so she’s going to give it a go.”The three-time All-Star center was listed as questionable on the Saturday injury report with a right lower leg injury, which flared up during Thursday’s regular-season finale against the Minnesota Lynx, according to White. Boston was pulled late in the second quarter and did not return.Buy Fever ticketsBoston said Saturday she feels like she’s “played 40, 40-plus games this season,” and is taking things day by day. That she was available to the media ahead of practice indicates she participated in some capacity. Boston missed four games earlier this season due to a right lower leg injury she suffered during Unrivaled, ending a streak of 127 consecutive games played to start her WNBA career, and a 275-game active streak that dated back to her days at South Carolina. The Fever will be without forward Damiris Dantas (left knee) and guard Tyasha Harris (left lower leg), both of whom are ruled out for the season. Caitlin Clark was listed as probable with a back and is active.Boston averages 16.1 points, 8 rebounds and 1.2 blocks this season, with a 52.8% mark from the field and a career-best 40.6% mark from 3, an area of her game she dedicated her offseason to improving. The matchup between Boston and four-time reigning MVP A’ja Wilson is a major focal point entering the best-of-3 series with the Aces. Wilson averaged 23 points and 12.5 rebounds in two games vs. the Fever this season, but did so on 39.6% shooting, well below her season rate of 52.7% and by far her worst split against any team this season (next closest: 45% vs. New York Liberty).White said Boston does “a great job” staying disciplined on shot fakes and forcing Wilson to take contested shots. “AB can play with a certain level of physicality and mobility, and her ability to make things as tough as possible has been effective. But A’ja is the best player in the world,” White said. “Certainly, we always have our work cut out for us, but it’s also a collective team effort to make sure that we have an awareness when she gets the ball.”Follow Brian Haenchen on Twitter at @Brian_Haenchen. Get IndyStar’s Indiana Fever and Caitlin Clark coverage sent directly to your inbox with our Caitlin Clark Fever newsletter. Subscribe to IndyStar TV: Fever for in-depth analysis, behind-the-scenes coverage and more. This article originally appeared on Indianapolis Star: Will Aliyah Boston play in Indiana Fever vs Las Vegas Aces WNBA Playoff game today? Our editors independently choose our recommendations.
