Willie Fritz is apparently having a good-looking season. The University of Houston coach was ranked the seventh-most handsome college football coach in the country, according to a study by Rotogrinders.Fritz was the highest-ranked of the state’s 13 FBS coaches. Duke’s Manny Diaz was ranked the most handsome college football coach, followed by Indiana’s Curt Cignetti, Clemson’s Dabo Swinney, Stanford’s Tavita Pritchard, Troy’s Gerad Parker, Western Kentucky’s Tyson Helton and Fritz.Ohio State’s Ryan Day, LSU’s Lane Kiffin and Florida’s Jon Sumrall round out the top 10.Fritz received a score of 68.6 out of 100. Among Texas coaches, UTSA’s Jeff Traylor was ranked 18th, SMU’s Rhett Lashlee was 25th, UTEP’s Scotty Walden was 37th, Texas Tech’s Joey McGuire was 55th, Rice’s Scott Abell was 57th, Texas A&M’s Mike Elko was 74th, North Texas’ Neal Brown was 86th, Texas State’s G.J. Kinne was 103rd , TCU’s Sonny Dykes was 104th, Texas’ Steve Sarkisian was 108th, Baylor’s Dave Aranda was 120th and Sam Houston’s Phil Longo was 122nd.Former UH coach Major Applewhite, now at South Alabama, was 19th.North Carolina’s Bill Belichick checked in at No. 123.Rotogrinders analyzed three images of every FBS head coach, totaling 414 images across 138 coaches, using facial-landmark analysis to identify 468 facial landmarks per image.Fritz’s strongest measures were the distance between the eyes relative to face width, which scored 8.58 out of 10, followed by face length relative to width (8.39) and facial vertical third (8.08).SubscribeThere’s more to Houston with the Chronicle.
