Wisconsin might be down two starting offensive linemen vs. Notre Dame

The Wisconsin Badgers have a workable schedule after their matchup against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, meaning that if Luke Fickell’s squad can find a way to upset the Irish at the historic Lambeau Field, then the mood around the program can flip on a dime. However, with just days away from one of the most anticipated matchups in recent memory, no one knows if two offensive linemen will even be fit for it. Right tackle Kevin Heywood and right guard Emerson Mandell are the two in question for Sunday’s blockbuster matchup. In a recent report compiled by Evan Flood of Badger Blitz, Fickell relayed the latest on the pair late last month. “We don’t know. There’s still some time for us. Those guys have been back in some capacity, but I couldn’t tell you exactly where they are to date right now. That’ll be a little closer to a game-time decision. That’s the one spot, probably on the offensive line, this week, there’s going to be a lot of determining factors.”Mandell missed fall camp for a foot injury, while Heywood hasn’t been seen practicing since the first week of camp. The odds are already stacked up against Wisconsin enough, so missing out on two offensive linemen could be a blow they can’t recover from.Contact/Follow @TheBadgersWire on X (formerly Twitter) and like our page on Facebook to follow ongoing coverage of Wisconsin Badgers news, notes and opinion. This article originally appeared on Badgers Wire: Wisconsin might be down two starting offensive linemen vs. Notre Dame
