Wizards rookie AJ Dybantsa shut down for rest of NBA Summer League

   ​No. 1 overall pick AJ Dybantsa has been shut down by the Washington Wizards for the remainder of the NBA Summer League, according to Josh Robbins of The Athletic.Dybantsa logged two appearances with the Wizards, averaging 25 points, seven rebounds, 2.5 steals, two assists and 1.5 blocks while shooting 39.4% from the field. He is tied with teammate Will Riley for the fifth-highest scoring average among all players in Las Vegas, Nevada.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementIn addition to Dybantsa, Riley and second-year guard Tre Johnson will also sit for the rest of the team’s stint in the desert. Wizards summer league coach T.J. Sorrentine told The Athletic that the team has seen enough of the trio in game action and in practice.Dybantsa debuted with the Wizards on July 9, recording 27 points and seven rebounds in a win over No. 2 pick Darryn Peterson and the Utah Jazz. He followed with a 23-point, seven-rebound performance on Sunday in a victory over the Sacramento Kings.The 19-year-old has dazzled in his nearly 51 total minutes on the court, utilizing his combination of size, physicality and athleticism to get to his spots.
