Wolves reject Fiorentina offer for Nigeria forward Arokodare

Fiorentina were left frustrated in their pursuit of Toluwalase Emmanuel Arokodare, as Wolves rejected a bid for the Nigerian forward. According to Fabrizio Romano, relayed by FirenzeViola, the Viola did present an offer to the Premier League club for the 24-year-old striker, but that proposal was turned down, scuppering one of their primary attacking targets as they continue their recruitment drive. The development comes amid Fiorentina’s broader search for a pacey wide attacker who can immediately bolster Fabio Grosso’s frontline, with the club keeping a close eye on the options available while they await a decision on Luca Koleosho.
Arokodare’s prospects have become increasingly complex, with multiple obstacles surrounding his potential move. In addition to Wolves’ stance, Trabzonspor have also registered interest in the 2000-born forward and reportedly lodged their own bid, only for it to fall short. Yet the more significant challenge may lie with the player’s own preferences: Arokodare is said to be reluctant to leave his current situation, showing little appetite for a transfer at this juncture. This mindset complicates any bidding club’s plans and suggests a move for the Nigeria international could stall.
For Fiorentina, the door remains open to alternative options as they reassess their attacking options for the season ahead. With a priority placed on strengthening Grosso’s attacking arsenal, Koleosho remains a name in the mix and could be the type of profile the club pursues if the Arokodare deal does not materialize. The Italian side are intent on finding a wide-forward who can contribute immediately and fit the tactical demands of their system, and as negotiations with Arokodare and other targets unfold, Fiorentina are preparing contingency plans to avoid a transfer window setback.
As the situation evolves, the focus for the Viola is expected to shift back toward other viable targets who can deliver the pace, width, and direct goal threat that Grosso desires. Luca Koleosho, among others on their radar, remains in play as Fiorentina look to reinforce their attack and secure a player who can integrate quickly and impact the team’s performances in Serie A and any European commitments. The club’s strategy underscores a careful balance between pursuing top targets and respecting the realities of a player’s willingness to move, aiming to land a deal that strengthens the squad without compromising on long-term fit.
