The last 16 of the 2026 World Cup opens with two gripping ties, each notable for different reasons. Canada travel to face Morocco, a match that will see the co-hosts play another game outside their own country (you’ll work out the details), while France look to solidify their status as favorites against Paraguay.
If Jonathan Tah’s header had stood in the previous round, France might have met Germany in the last 16. Instead, Paraguay will take on Kylian Mbappe and company, hoping to execute the game plan that troubled, and ultimately defeated, the four-time world champions.
France and Morocco could be on a path to meet in the quarter-finals, with both teams seen as likely to advance from the round of 32. Yet nothing is guaranteed, and Canada and Paraguay are also pursuing the next round.
Here is your complete guide to today’s World Cup games, including kick-off times, broadcast networks, and streaming options.

What to watch for
Co-hosts Canada head back on the road to Houston to take on Morocco. Jesse Marsch’s side needed a stoppage-time winner from Stephen Eustaquio to beat South Africa, but the tactical matchup on Saturday could play to Canada’s advantages in transition. Morocco, who have revived their giant-killing form from 2022 by eliminating the Netherlands in their last match, are a more balanced side now and possess the players to control the game. They still have room to grow at this World Cup.
Player to watch: Alphonso Davies (Canada) – The Bayern Munich left back finally appeared in this World Cup against South Africa. If Davies is fit to start or can play a major portion of the match, his influence could tilt the tie in Canada’s favor.

What to watch for
France have looked unstoppable so far in the tournament, with Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele, and Michael Olise delivering goals and assists at will. Deschamps’ side are playing like the favorites, and this match offers a chance to reinforce that status. Paraguay, meanwhile, know what it takes to test a top team, and will be determined to seize an upset opportunity.
