​The New York Yankees could be facing another outfield injury at a crucial point in the MLB season. Center fielder Trent Grisham left Friday night’s game against the San Diego Padres with right hamstring discomfort, and manager Aaron Boone provided an update afterward. Grisham drew a walk from Padres starter Walker Buehler to open the second inning and attempted to steal second base. According to both Grisham and Boone, that was when the center fielder felt something in his hamstring.Grisham remained in the game initially, but the issue became more apparent in the bottom half of the inning. He had difficulty getting to a ball hit into shallow center by Xander Bogaerts that dropped in for an RBI single.After the inning, Grisham spoke with a trainer and headed toward the clubhouse. Not sure yet if it’s an IL or not, but it certainly could be.”That’s obviously concerning considering Grisham already missed significant time earlier this season because of the same hamstring. He was placed on the injured list in June with a moderate right hamstring strain and was expected to miss multiple weeks.The encouraging part is that Grisham and Boone indicated the hamstring had not been bothering him since his return from that previous IL stint. Unfortunately, the issue resurfaced Friday night while Grisham was trying to steal second.Yankees await testing before making a decisionFor now, the Yankees are taking a wait-and-see approach.
