Jones was sent down to Triple-A, but then brought back up after the injury to Aaron Judge and some other guys.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThere have been parts throughout his young career when he looks like a very good player, but it’s almost impossible to ignore the strikeout concerns that were already very prevalent.Had Jones been the player that everybody was expecting him to be, this would be a guy who could stay up for a very long time. However, even with the strikeout concerns being something most fans knew about, it’s been as bad as anybody can imagine, and as a result, some think the Yankees are going to cut ties with him when the injuries start to slow down a bit.“The homers are majestic, but the contact concerns have very much materialized in Jones’ first extended taste of big-league pitching, with a K rate north of 40 percent and ugly numbers across the board. Jones is a solid defender, and his athleticism and ability to handle center field are useful, but it just feels like he’s not quite ready yet — and his inability to handle lefties is a poor fit with the starting trio of Judge, Grisham and Cody Bellinger. You could make argue for his inclusion on the expanded roster later this year as part of a DH platoon with Stanton, but frankly, I trust Jasson Dominguez as a righty-masher more than Jones right now,” Chris Landers wrote. It’s unfortunate that Jones is in this loaded an outfield and really doesn’t have much of a chance to change things. There certainly is an argument to be made that he would fit in better with other teams around the league, but that isn’t the reality of his situation with the Yankees.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementRed Sox expected to make trade decision on World Series championPhillies get hefty prediction on award winner who no fan should wantYankees given bad news on $151M All-Star trade deadline targetGleyber Torres trade noise should be of interest to YankeesMets’ Francisco Lindor trade deadline plan should anger fans      Read More Feedzy
