The Boston Red Sox extended their winning streak to three with a 1:00 PM matchup at Fenway Park against the New York Yankees, but the win wasn’t without incident. Late in the game, interim manager Chad Tracy said security was needed to remove a fan or fans seated near the Red Sox dugout after ongoing chirping directed at Jarren Duran. Tracy recounted the event to reporters after the game, noting that the taunts had continued for several innings and intensified toward Duran following a groundout in the bottom of the eighth, leaving him 0-for-4 on the day. He described asking for the individual to be removed, saying simply, “Can you get him out?” while declining to reveal specifics of what was said. As a result, one fan was removed just before the start of the ninth inning.
