Ariane Lipski da Silva, the former UFC women’s flyweight contender, has announced her retirement from MMA following her loss to Jena Bishop at PFL San Diego. The 32-year-old Brazilian was submitted in the first round, and she confirmed on Sunday that she would no longer step into the cage.
Lipski da Silva began her professional fighting career in 2013 and ends her MMA run with a record of 18-12. She posted a lengthy message on social media the day after the defeat, officially declaring her retirement and reflecting on nearly 13 years as a professional fighter who has competed in some of the biggest organizations in the sport.
In her retirement note, Lipski da Silva expressed gratitude for the opportunities, lessons, and doors the sport opened for her, and she emphasized her aim to help women’s MMA grow without compromising their values to achieve success. She acknowledged that defeat is painful but can build character, while victory can be misleading if one’s foundations are not strong. She thanked everyone who supported her and declared that the “Queen of Violence” era is finished, as she looks forward to the next chapter in her life, with a prayer that the Lord Jesus Christ will be glorified in her future endeavors.
Lipski da Silva has a long UFC history, having signed with the promotion in 2019 and competing 14 times there with a 6-8 record. She scored notable wins over Casey O’Neill, JJ Aldrich, and Melissa Gatto. Before joining the UFC, she reigned as the women’s flyweight champion in KSW and was regarded as one of the sport’s top prospects. Her UFC tenure, however, was marked by inconsistency, contributing to a sub-.500 record during her time in orbit of the Octagon. After being released by the UFC in 2025, she joined the PFL, where she went 1-1.
Heavy.com extends best wishes to Lipski da Silva as she embarks on a new phase of life.
