Mercy’s Addison Kuebler voted the Buffalo Wild Wings Girls Athlete of the Season

   ​Update, July 2: Congratulations to Addison Kuebler of Farmington Hills Mercy for being voted the Detroit Free Press Buffalo Wild Wings Girls Prep Athlete of the Week. It’s now time to vote for the Detroit Free Press Buffalo Wild Wings Girls Prep Athlete of the Season. This week’s poll features five nominees—three basketball players, one volleyball player, and one field hockey player—who were among the top vote-getters during the 2025-2026 high school sports season. Voting closes at 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 2.
The nominees, listed in alphabetical order by last name, are:
– Chloe Bullinger, Tecumseh, basketball: Bullinger led the week of March 8-14 with a standout performance, scoring 30 points in Tecumseh’s 58-39 regional final victory over Parma Western on March 11. Tecumseh reached the state finals for the second straight year but lost to Goodrich, 55-44. This season, Bullinger averaged 9.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 3.2 steals, and became Tecumseh’s all-time leader in assists (458) and steals (282). She earned honorable mention on the Free Press’s Division 2 All-State team and was named to the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan’s Division 2 All-State team.
– Samantha Fuhs, Dearborn Divine Child, basketball: Fuhs won the Jan. 18-24 campaign after dropping a season-high 30 points, going 9-for-16 from the field (including six 3-pointers) in a 68-62 loss to Farmington Hills Mercy. She averaged 14.3 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.4 steals, and two assists, and shot 78% from beyond the arc.
– Addison Kuebler, Farmington Hills Mercy, field hockey: Kuebler emerged as a top vote-getter in the fall during Mercy’s inaugural field hockey season. The junior defender was Mercy’s Most Valuable Defensive Player, recording 134 stops this season.
– Leah Poggiolo, Utica Eisenhower, basketball: Poggiolo won the Feb. 1-7 campaign after totaling 24 points across Eisenhower’s two games against Utica and Macomb Dakota. The then-sophomore averaged 11 points per game, plus five rebounds, two assists, and several steals, helping Eisenhower reach the state semifinals for the first time in 44 years.
– Eleanor Williams, Romeo, volleyball: Williams won the Nov. 2-8 campaign by guiding Romeo to two wins over Utica Eisenhower and Auburn Hills Avondale to reach the regional finals of the 2025 MHSAA volleyball tournament. The rising senior posted season totals of 441 kills, 285 digs, 66 blocks, and 54 aces.
