Recently, a number of analysts have released projections for the top quarterback-wide receiver duos for the 2026 college football season, and Notre Dame’s CJ Carr pairing with Mylan Graham has earned a spot in On3’s JD Pickell’s rankings. Yet this isn’t a universal sentiment. SleeperCFB, for instance, tackled the same assignment but did not include any Notre Dame pair on their list. It’s hard to mount a strong argument against Pickell’s selection, and while it’s enjoyable to see Notre Dame stars recognized, there is still a great deal of uncertainty surrounding the Irish wide receiver corps.
Both transfers, Mylan Graham and Quincy Porter, did not receive substantial playing time at Ohio State. The returnees, Jordan Faison and Jaden Greathouse, also arrive with questions to answer. Could the former dual-sport standout finally establish himself as a true No. 1 option for Carr, especially after Faison chose to devote all his athletic energy to football rather than lacrosse? Greathouse, meanwhile, has struggled to stay healthy, with injuries stalling what looked like a promising trajectory.
SleeperCFB did not spell out their reasoning for omitting two Notre Dame players, and while it’s not unusual for late-season re-evaluations to reshape such lists, it’s reasonable to expect that a duo from the Irish could surface if the projections are revisited. It stands to reason that a go-to receiver will emerge for Notre Dame, but predicting who that will be at this moment remains particularly challenging.
