2026 MLB Draft: Where Tennessee prospects, commits rank in ESPN’s final rankings

By admin — In News — July 9, 2026

Josh Elander’s inaugural season as Tennessee’s baseball coach ended up being a down year by recent Volunteer standards. Replacing Tony Vitello is no easy task, and to Elander’s credit, he eventually steered the program back toward the right path. A few key injuries hampered them during tournament time, and Tennessee bowed out in the regional round in Chapel Hill.
The team’s uneven 2026 storyline is underscored by a lack of elite talent and depth in this year’s MLB Draft. Tegan Kuhns stands as the lone Volunteer inside the top 150 prospects, per ESPN. As is typical for Tennessee, several high school commits stand ready to come off the board early and finalize their decisions. The Volunteers also have a couple of transfers contemplating their options. Here is how ESPN slots Tennessee’s prospects and commitments:
No. 11: RF/LHP Jared Grindlinger (Tennessee commit)
No. 16: CF Trevor Condon (Tennessee commit)
No. 32: RHP Tegan Kuhns
No. 49: C Sean Dunlap (Tennessee commit)
No. 52: RHP Kaiden McCarthy (Tennessee commit)
No. 98: RHP Gary Morse (Tennessee commit)
No. 107: RHP Cole Koeninger (Tennessee commit)
No. 109: SS Jack Dugan (Tennessee commit)
No. 112: RHP Tyler Putnam (Tennessee commit)
No. 125: RHP Gannon Grant (Tennessee commit)
No. 142: 1B Cody Boshell (Tennessee commit)
No. 156: Transfer LHP Jake McCoy
No. 162: OF/C Garrett Wright
No. 180: 1B A.J. Curry (Tennessee commit)
No. 183: 3B Henry Ford
No. 201: RHP Bo Rhudy
Other notable names include Andrew Duncan and Ricky Ojeda, who are also draft eligible. The 2026 MLB Draft is scheduled to begin this Saturday, July 11, setting the stage for Tennessee’s decisions and the next steps in its evolving roster.
