Four NFL teams have shown interest in former Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold since his release from Detroit in late June, his agent disclosed during a court hearing Friday. Nicole Lynn, Arnold’s representative, testified via Zoom in a Hillsborough County Circuit Court hearing in Tampa that the teams expressing interest are the Indianapolis Colts, New York Jets, Seattle Seahawks, and Houston Texans.
Lynn noted that Arnold recently worked out with the Houston Texans on Thursday, with the team covering his travel costs. He also had another workout this week and has one more on the schedule for next week. The update comes as Arnold faces criminal charges in a separate matter; he is accused in a Tampa case involving an armed robbery and kidnapping plot from February, a case in which seven individuals have been charged. Arnold’s attorney requested that the court deny prosecutors’ bid to require Arnold to wear a GPS tether while those charges proceed. The request was ultimately denied by the judge.
Arnold’s attorney, Harvey Steinberg, said last week that three teams had expressed interest in the cornerback, and that number has now grown to four. Steinberg indicated he is “fairly confident” Arnold will land with another team soon, especially as NFL training camps approach at the end of July.
The development follows Arnold’s release from the Lions in late June, which prompted immediate interest from several NFL clubs as teams prepared for the upcoming season. The four clubs named by Lynn remain among the front-runners in the continued evaluation of Arnold’s potential fit and possibility of joining their rosters ahead of training camp and the preseason slate.
This report draws from coverage originally published by The Detroit News, which highlighted that Arnold had drawn interest from multiple franchises after parting ways with Detroit. As the NFL cycle moves toward camp, scouts and teams will continue to monitor Arnold’s workouts, background checks, and legal proceedings to determine whether he might contribute at the professional level during the upcoming season.
