Legendary kicker Adam Vinatieri is set to enter the Indianapolis Colts’ Ring of Honor before he is enshrined in the New England Patriots Hall of Fame. The ceremony is scheduled for later this year, on October 18, during the Colts’ Week 6 showdown with the Tennessee Titans.
During his time with the Colts, Vinatieri connected on 336 of 394 field goal attempts, and his overall NFL totals stand at 599 of 715 field goals. He earned fame not only for his remarkable consistency but also for delivering in the most high-pressure moments, delivering clutch game-winning kicks for the Patriots in Super Bowl XXXVI and Super Bowl XXXVIII.
During the Colts’ 2006 charge to the Super Bowl, Vinatieri was almost flawless, hitting 14 of 15 field goals and converting all of his extra-point attempts in the postseason. Many regard him as the greatest kicker in NFL history, a distinction that contributed to his 2026 selection to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Now, Vinatieri will be permanently enshrined in Colts lore, his contributions to the franchise permanently etched in its history.
Indications are that Vinatieri will likewise be honored by the Patriots with induction into their Hall of Fame at a future date, though he was not chosen this year, as the honor went to legendary tight end Rob Gronkowski. That decision underscores that the Patriots continue to recognize and celebrate Vinatieri’s storied contributions to the club, even if the timing differs from the Colts’ celebration.
There is no doubt that Vinatieri deserves every accolade that has come his way. His career is defined by remarkable reliability, a knack for delivering in pressure-packed moments, and a lasting impact on both franchises he helped shape.
