Wolves have completed the signing of left winger Rafiki Said from Standard Liege for an undisclosed fee on a three-year contract, with the option to extend for a further 12 months. The 26-year-old becomes the first addition under new head coach Cesar Peixoto and marks the third arrival for Wanderers in this transfer window, following the departures and arrivals of Kieran Trippier and Raul Jimenez.
In Belgium’s top flight, Said contributed eight goals and five assists across 37 appearances in his single season with Standard Liege. The Comoros international previously began his senior career with Brest in September 2021, and subsequently spent time with Nimes and Troyes before making the move to Belgium last summer. Said has also netted eight goals in 21 appearances for Comoros at the international level and played every minute of their Africa Cup of Nations campaign last December.
“He’s a fast player and one-versus-one running is a very important characteristic for us, so he’s another player who can help us build a big family and a strong team to fight,” Peixoto told the club’s official website. “He’s a strong guy, quick and athletic. He has the capacity, quality and mentality to adapt, help the team improve, win games and do things in the right way.”
