Broncos Country bullish on Nix’s TD count

A sizable crowd shares the same belief Tim Lynch and I hold—that Bo Nix is poised to be lights out in the end zone this season. With 25 touchdown passes last year and 29 as a rookie, Broncos Country is confident that a record-breaking year is on the horizon for No. 10.
Here are some favorite comments from the poll post, illustrating the range of expectations: “44 TDs would be ideal for a couple of reasons. One, it will spare his healing ankle by staying in the pocket and not running so much. Two, OC Webb knows that in a division with Allen, Mahomes, and Herbert there will be shootouts. Winning 14-7 isn’t an option anymore. The defense will do its job, as usual, but the offense must take charge. Besides, we need the D for the playoffs. Three, Bo isn’t getting the NFL accolades he deserves from the talking heads. Throwing 5,000 yards and 44 TDs would shut them up quickly. Is it September 15 yet?!” – adulane. Another says, “I say he throws 30 and runs in 7 more.” – orangeNbluethrough&through. And a third observation notes the connection with Waddle: “Waddle was a slant master with his college QB (Tua) at Bama, where the deep throw window was open less often due to a rag arm. In the NFL, they both adapted to the short zone and intermediate routes, with the slant becoming a weapon for Waddle that’s been more dangerous than any other Dolphin receiver since Landry. With more speed, a slant can turn into six.” – HOF DUKE. Another commenter, West_Country_JD, adds, “I mean, he SHOULD have his best year yet, and that should translate into more TDs. Hopefully the improved depth at skill positions and a solid O-line, plus snappier, more natural play-calling, will push Bo into a genuine top-10 QB tier.” Tim Lynch himself weighed in, “55. To clarify; 7 in the playoffs, 2 in the SB. 46 reg season.” These opinions capture the spectrum of expectations, from high-flying to more measured projections.
Of course, Vegas presents the opposite take, predicting Nix will underperform in 2026. Both positions can be justified. After offseason surgery, there’s a plausible concern that Nix’s mobility could be reduced, though there’s no definite indication that will happen. And it’s possible that Davis Webb leans more into the run game than Sean Payton did, which could alter the scheme away from a 30+ touchdown year. Yet the counterargument is strong: Jaylen Waddle and Courtland Sutton are each capable of double-digit touchdown catches, making a 30-TD season not just possible but plausible.
Ultimately, the relevance of the touchdown total hinges on how it translates to wins. If Nix throws 23 TDs while the rushing attack piles up 30 and the team wins 14 or more games, no one will fixate on the final stat line for 2026. But if he reaches 40+ touchdowns, that would be a welcome bonus. In the end, the real measure is impact on victories, not a single number.
