Clemson lands 4-star defensive tackle over rivals Georgia and South Carolina

By admin — In News — July 11, 2026

Clemson football’s 2027 recruiting class added a major piece this Saturday when four-star defensive tackle Seth Tillman announced his commitment to the Tigers. The Rock Hill, South Pointe standout chose Clemson over Georgia, Michigan, and South Carolina, giving Dabo Swinney another significant win in the 2027 cycle.
Tillman had been on Clemson’s radar for years. He earned an offer after working out at Swinney’s summer camp last year, an event he had attended for many years while growing up. The Tigers nurtured that relationship throughout his recruitment, bringing him back for the Elite Retreat in March, inviting him to the season opener against LSU last fall, and hosting his official visit in June before he ultimately decided to pledge to Clemson.
Standing 6-foot-3 and weighing 300 pounds, Tillman concluded a standout junior season by helping South Pointe win the South Carolina Class 4A state title. He finished the year with 61 tackles, 27 tackles for loss, and 8.5 sacks, establishing himself as one of the nation’s premier defensive linemen and a game-changing presence up front.
Tillman becomes Clemson’s 25th commitment in the 2027 class and the 18th player to commit since mid-May. He joins three-star in-state prospect Jaden Wuerth as the Tigers’ second defensive tackle commitment in the class. In the latest rankings, Rivals slots Tillman as No. 116 nationally, No. 11 among defensive tackles, and No. 2 in South Carolina. His commitment also provides a boost to Clemson’s team ranking, moving the Tigers back to No. 11 in the 247Sports Team Composite standings.
