The 154th Open Championship is scheduled for July 16-19 at Royal Birkdale in Southport, England, the same course where Jordan Spieth claimed victory in 2017. Unlike the PGA Championship and the U.S. Open, future Open Championships are not publicly announced several years in advance. The R&A has revealed its next two venues beyond this year. For background on past champions, you can click here.
2027 will be held at The Old Course in St. Andrews, Scotland. Known as the Home of Golf, this iconic venue has hosted 30 Open Championships, with the most recent edition taking place in 2022 and won by Cameron Smith.
2028 will take place at Royal Lytham & St. Annes in Lancashire, England. This course has hosted 12 Open Championships previously, with the latest edition in 2012 won by Ernie Els.
The R&A uses a rotating schedule of courses for The Open, a lineup that currently includes: Royal Portrush, Royal Birkdale, the Old Course at St. Andrews, Royal Troon, Royal Lytham & St. Annes, Royal St. George’s, Muirfield, Carnoustie, and Royal Liverpool.
