After two weeks of thrilling action at the 2026 Wimbledon Championships, Jannik Sinner and Linda Nosková stood proudly as the singles champions, lifting the coveted trophies on the grass-court major. In keeping with one of Wimbledon’s most cherished traditions, the victorious players stepped onto the Champions’ Ball stage and shared the ceremonial winners’ dance, dressed in their finest outfits, as fans cheered their celebrations.
Nosková, the No. 9 seed, delivered the breakout performance of her career, crafting a remarkable Wimbledon run that propelled her into the spotlight. She began by overcoming Ella Seidel, Camila Osorio, Sorana Cîrstea, Madison Keys, and Elise Mertens to reach her first Grand Slam semifinal. In the semifinal, she defeated Marta Kostyuk in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, advancing to a much-anticipated all-Czech final against No. 10 seed Karolína Muchová at SW19. The 21-year-old encountered a dramatic moment in the championship clash, surrendering five championship points as she dominated the opening set before experiencing a two-set tussle, losing the second set 5-7. Yet Nosková regrouped, stabilizing her game to prevail 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 and claim her maiden Grand Slam title.
Sinner’s Wimbledon journey mirrored a story of resilience and momentum. He endured a grueling five-set battle in his opener against Miomir Kecmanović before sweeping through subsequent rounds with commanding, straight-set victories over Nuno Borges, Jenson Brooksby, Shintaro Mochizuki, and Jan-Lennard Struff. In the dream semifinal, he faced a stern test against Novak Djokovic, delivering a solid 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 performance to advance to the final.
In the championship match, Sinner faced the formidable No. 2 seed Alexander Zverev. After dropping the first set in a tiebreak, he rebounded with composure and determination to win the next three sets, 7-6(7), 6-7(2), 6-3, 6-4, sealing the victory and successfully defending his Wimbledon crown while also delivering his first major title of the season.
Hours after clinching the title, Sinner arrived at the Wimbledon Champions’ Ball looking impeccably sharp in a classic black tuxedo. He shared the podium with Nosková, who captivated the room in an elegant black dress that combined sophistication with a touch of modern flair. The pair delighted the audience by performing the traditional champions’ dance to Justin Timberlake’s upbeat “Can’t Stop the Feeling!” moments after their speeches, a heartwarming scene that echoed Sinner’s past triumphs and his enduring connection with the Wimbledon tradition. The moment was not unfamiliar to Sinner, who previously danced with Iga Świątek at the previous year’s event. In a BBC interview from last year, the Italian explained that although the late hour had tempted organizers to skip the dance, Świątek encouraged him to participate, reminding him of the importance of the ceremony. “Yes, I mean, we were there, and at first they told us, since it was quite late, that we didn’t have to do it. Then Iga said, ‘No, no, let’s do it.’ I said, ‘Okay.’ It’s tradition, so it’s nice to make that moment happen. It was special to share that moment with Iga, and it’s a beautiful memory,” Sinner said.
With the Wimbledon triumphs under their belts, Jannik Sinner and Linda Nosková now prepare for a well-deserved break before turning their attention to the North American hard-court season. Both players will be plotting their next moves on the tour’s fastest surfaces, seeking to build on the momentum from Wimbledon as they pursue further major successes and continued progress in the global tennis calendar.
